1. Dada Harir Stepwell

Dada Harir Vav – step well is a wonderful example of architecture. This step well was built in 1485 by Dhai Harir, a housewife of Mahmud Begda. The Kankaria lake was earlier known as Hauz-i-Qutub and was a bathing place for the sultans of that time. In the middle of it is a beautiful Iceland-Garden known as Nagina Wadi. 5. Bhadra Fort

Bhadra Fort is an ancient fort on the east bank of Sabarmati River. Sultan Ahmad Shah I built this fort in 1411 AD. Over the years many rulers have conquered and ruled over this fort. In 1817, the British captured the fort after defeating the ruling Marathas. British rulers converted the fort in a jail. The Maratha rulers built Bhadra Kali temple in the fort making it “Bhadra Killo”. The fort is situated on a vast land of about 43 acres.

7. Sarkhej Roza

Sarkhej Roza is a magnificent architectural complex of tombs, mosques and palaces built near Sarkhej Lake. It is an important place of Sufi culture and place where the Sufi saint Ganj Baksh lived. The rulers built a mausoleum along with a mosque in his memory after his death. This is the biggest roza of Gujarat. It is a fine example of Mughal and Indian architectural design. Apart from the Sufi saint’s tomb, the tombs of the kings and queens of that time are also located in Sarkhej Roza.
